Angela Walker B.Com (Management Studies and Labour Relations)

Angela has been an employment relations consultant for more than 20 years. She has considerable experience in collective bargaining, including negotiating single employer collectives, multi union collectives and multi employer collectives; grievances and disputes, performance management, restructuring and other employment issues. Angela regularly represents clients in bargaining, disciplinary and exit situations and at mediation.
Angela has carried out a considerable number of employment investigations into harassment, bullying and other allegations for public and private sector employers.

Prior to setting up Employers Associates Ltd, Angela managed the Employment Relations and Human Resources team at the Employers Chamber of Commerce Central (formerly EMA Central) for six years.

Angela’s greatest interest outside of work is definitely travelling, but she has also been thoroughly obsessed with house renovations for a time, and enjoys gardening, cooking, eating out, reading, planning her next trip and thinking up reasons not to go to the gym.

David Wutzler B.Sc (Industrial Psychology), Grad. Dip. Sc

David Wutzler has an extensive background in helping companies meet best practice health and safety management.

David provides advice and assistance to employers, including training in all aspects of health and safety and Injury Management /ACC. David has been involved in setting up and reviewing Safety Management Systems for a number of large organisations throughout New Zealand.

David has a background in Industrial Psychology. David worked at the Employers Chamber of Commerce (previously EMA Central) for over 20 years and prior to this was employed in the electricity industry at power stations and in high voltage transmission line construction and maintenance.

 David is an Accredited Safety Auditor under the International Safety Ratings System (I.S.R.S.) and is an accredited ACC Senior Auditor under the Accredited Employer Programme (Partnership Programme). David is a “Consensus Based Disability Management” auditors in NZ for the “NIDMAR” disability management programme used by large organisations in Australia and North America.  David is also an accredited assessor for the recently developed SafePlus business improvement tool developed by WorkSafe, ACC and MBIE.

David has conducted hundreds of audits for companies under the ACC WSMP and Partnership Programmes, and is also frequently asked to carry out pre-audits and gap analysis for companies who want to have an independent and thorough assessment of their health and safety and injury management systems.

David has often been called on to represent employer interests at Government Select Committee hearings, and working groups convened by WorkSafe and its predecessors and ACC.

David has been involved in the development of a number of codes of practice guidelines, and legislative reviews including the guidelines for the management of stress and fatigue, the manual handling code of practice and guidelines for safe work in the metal industry.  David was also involved in the development of the SafePlus business improvement tool.

David has a practical approach to health and safety and is a firm believer that “the less complex, the better” for health and safety.

Sherry Johnston RSH Dip PHI, Dip SM

Sherry has been working in Health and Safety throughout her career, and has been providing consulting advice, auditing and training through her consulting business for over 10 years.  Sherry has provided assistance and advice to a large range of organisations including central government agencies, local government organisations, large private business operations and small businesses.  Sherry has been involved at all levels within the organisation, and provides training to personnel including senior management, front line supervisors, and employees and their representatives. 

Sherry has been auditing, consulting and training for many years, and enjoys the opportunity to bring a practical and simple approach to the health and safety and risk management, an approach which receives very positive responses from clients.  Her auditing role includes being a senior auditor for the ACC  Partnership audit programmes, and reviewing understanding and application of the audit standards.  Sherry was one of the first accredited SafePlus assessors in New Zealand.

Sherry is often called on to carry out “gap analysis” reviews for large organisations in New Zealand and Australia, identifying the differences between current practice and best practice, at a local and strategic level.

Sherry’s previous roles included providing consulting and training advice on health and safety, ACC, and employment law, carrying out audits of OHS management systems and procedures, and assisting with development and implementation of new systems, while working for a private accident insurer, as senior consultant at Aon Risk Services, and previously with the Employers and Manufacturers Association.  Sherry’s career started with nine years in the Department of Health as a Health Protection Officer where she developed a particular interest in occupational health issues.
